No on 50 & 108

We need property tax relief, but these measures are the wrong way to do it.

50 & 108 create chaos and uncertainty for communities

They turn Colorado’s budget into a complicated, one-size-fits-all messy knot of new mandates, and the resulting financial chaos will bring unpredictable changes that endanger local services in every sector: from public safety, schools, parks, and libraries, to fire prevention, mental health services, water, and roads.

50 & 108 take away local decisionmaking power

They weaken local control and tie funding for public services to property values in other parts of the state. Even if your community’s rates are holding steady or decreasing, so long as property values in places like Denver, Aspen, or Boulder are going up, your community may have to cut its budget.

We need tax relief, not chaos

Colorado just passed a tax relief package with overwhelming Republican and Democratic support. The bipartisan package, Senate Bill 24-233, lowers property tax rates and caps future property tax growth while protecting funding for education and targeting the tax relief to those who need it most.

50 crushes communities. 108 guts them.
